Sears Donates $10,000 to American Red Cross for Minnesota Tornado Relief Activities

Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S) today presented the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund with a $10,000 donation to aid in relief efforts following the devastating tornado that swept through the Granite Falls area Tuesday evening.

"Sears is proud to play a leadership role in disaster relief activities nationally and in local communities like Granite Falls," said Sandy Whitehouse, Sears district manager. "Responding to community needs is a priority for us. It's our chance to demonstrate our support for families in our community."

"Because we respond to more than 64,000 disasters each year, the support from Sears is essential in helping us fulfilling our mission that we'll be there to help."

The American Red Cross is dedicated to helping make families and communities safer at home and around the world. Sears is a national sponsor of the American Red Cross, donating $1 million over five years to disaster relief services throughout the nation. In addition, Sears associates, along with their family members, provided more than 250,000 hours of volunteer services to community activities across the country.
