Sears Employee to Walk Down the Aisle In Wedding Ceremony at Odessa Sears Store:
First In-Store Wedding In Company's 115-Year History
What: Sears associate Veronica Olinske will wed Kenneth Robinson at the Odessa Sears store in honor of her fellow associates who have become her "extended family." Olinske, who works in the appliance department, will walk down the escalator into the patio furniture department where she and Robinson will exchange vows among her friends and family. A mother of three, Olinske will be given away by her oldest son and her younger son will be the ringbearer. Robinson has two children who also will attend and participate in the ceremony. When: Friday, July 6, 2001; 5:30 p.m. CDT Where: Odessa Sears store 4101 E. 42nd Street Why: Two years ago, Olinske saw Sears featured in Working Mother magazine's issue on Top Places for Working Mothers to Work. A single mother, Olinske appreciated the benefits and the environment that Sears offers its associates, and she applied for a job in her local store's electronics department. Olinske has worked at Sears for two years and has grown to love her fellow associates as if they were her extended family. She felt strongly that she wanted her wedding to take place at her "second home" among the people closest to her. Sears store general manager John Marshall and the rest of the Odessa Sears store associates were quick to organize a ceremony and a reception in Olinske's honor. Sears Portrait Studio is donating its services for Olinske's wedding photos. For more information, contact Sears store general manager John Marshall at (915) 368-8543. Photographers and camera crews welcome.
