Sears.com Convenient Homeowner Resource for Product Repair and Home Improvement Specialists
The dilemma: how do you find a reliable product repair or home improvement specialist in your neighborhood? Someone to install, repair or maintain a central air conditioning system -- or fix and maintain a window air conditioner? Someone to tune up the lawn mower? A plumber or electrician? A carpet cleaner or a service to install new windows or entry doors?
Sears HomeCentral庐 has introduced an enhanced home services section of sears.com to assist homeowners. The offering expands upon the existing capability of scheduling and tracking in-home product repairs online. For the first time homeowners may go to to verify, by zip code, local service availability for specific home improvements. Also, customers may go onto sears.com to view the status of products dropped-off for repair at service centers.
"This is the most recent example of Sears enhancing the customer experience for home services through Web-based technology," said Mark Good, president of Sears Product Repair Services.
Sears launched the ability to schedule, cancel and reschedule in-home product repair appointments on sears.com in 2000. Previously, Sears introduced PartsDirect online, which now features 4.5 million parts for appliances, electronics, lawn and garden equipment and power tools -- and 90,000 parts diagrams to help pinpoint the part needed.
