Super Kmart Offers Super Convenience to Caguas Shoppers
Store brings added value to the community on October 20
Local shoppers will be able to do fewer errands but accomplish so much more at the Super Kmart located at Las Catalinas Mall, Calle Bentances Final, Carr 156 KM 60.0, when it officially reopens its doors next week.
Super Kmart combines the selection and value of a traditional Kmart with a full-service grocery store. Whether their needs call for a pound of shaved ham, a new set of towels or a prescription to be filled, Caguas residents will find most everything on their to-do list can be purchased or accomplished at the 122,795 square-foot Super Kmart. And they can experience this convenience 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"Our Caguas customers will be able to accomplish so much in one place, while spending less, when they shop Super Kmart," said Steve Falcon, Kmart regional vice president. "Our friendly store associates will do everything they can to make each shopping experience a pleasant one. Shoppers will wonder what they ever did without a Super Kmart."
In addition to the 40,000 grocery items Super Kmart offers, shoppers will find a wide array of grocery amenities:
-- Melt-in-your-mouth rolls, cookies, jumbo muffins and other fresh goods tempt shoppers in the bakery. Super Kmart pastry chefs are happy to create a custom cake for any special occasion.
-- Fresh produce is abundant at Super Kmart, and shoppers will be pleased to find some of the more exotic fruits and vegetables not available at smaller grocery stores.
-- A full-service butcher shop stands ready to fill special orders. Shoppers on the go can grab prepackaged meat, chicken that's been pre-chopped and prepped for stir-frying or fresh seafood, such as peel-and-eat shrimp.
-- The hot and cold delicatessen menus offer freshly made items such as potato salad and rotisserie chicken, as well as many gourmet selections.
Super Kmart's convenience and high-quality selection doesn't end in the grocery aisles. Customers can shop for everyday and specialty merchandise before or after loading up their carts with groceries. Super Kmart's merchandise assortment offers recognized name brands such as Rubbermaid, Black and Decker, and Fruit of the Loom. Combined with Kmart's own high-quality private labels such as Sesame Street clothing for kids, Kathy Ireland and Jaclyn Smith women's apparel, Route 66 clothing for the entire family, Martha Stewart Everyday home fashions, Thom McAn shoes, White-Westinghouse appliances, BenchTop tools and Penske Automotive products, Super Kmart offers style and value not found anywhere else.
The one-stop convenience story gets even better: Super Kmart offers services such as video rental, hair salons, florists, UPS shipping, banking, photo processing, in-store eateries and a pharmacy.
In order to accommodate shoppers with special needs, Super Kmart features mechanical doors, motorized shopping carts and enlarged rest rooms.
Super Kmart operates 135 stores, including one in Bayamon and one in Caguas.
Each year, associates at Kmart and Kmart SuperCenter stores raise millions of dollars for local and national charitable organizations. In addition, more than 300 store associates will actively support local causes through Kmart's Community Volunteers program. Kmart Community Volunteers help underprivileged children, host bake sales to raise money for local charities, and support the company's efforts to contribute approximately $20 million each year in cash and merchandise to many charitable causes such as the National Disaster Relief Program of the American Red Cross.
Earlier this year, Kmart allocated $10,000 to the American Red Cross in Puerto Rico to help provide immediate assistance to residents in Yauco, and the surrounding areas following the torrential rains. In 2001, Kmart Community Volunteers in Puerto Rico raised more than $71,000 for the March of Dimes and $8,000 for Give Kids The World, a nonprofit organization that sends terminally ill children and their families on a six-day, cost-free vacation to Central Florida. Last year, 256 families from Puerto Rico were guests of Give Kids The World.
