Sears Names Bousquette to New Customer/Marketing Post
Expanded Position Integrates Marketing With Customer-Relationship Disciplines
Sears, Roebuck and Co. (NYSE: S) has appointed Janine Bousquette, a broadly experienced marketing, customer-relationship and brand-equity executive, to the new position of executive vice president and chief customer and marketing officer, effective Nov. 1.
In her new post, Bousquette, 41, will be responsible for the strategic integration of Sears' marketing, customer care and customer-relationship management efforts.
David Selby, senior vice president of marketing, has decided to leave the company on Oct. 15.
"Janine has the experience, leadership and teaming skills we need to develop a single organization that is focused on the customer and strategically joins our marketing with efforts to understand and develop long-term customer relationships," Alan J. Lacy, chairman and chief executive officer, said.
"I wish to thank David sincerely for his enthusiasm, professionalism and many solid contributions," Lacy said. "David was instrumental in repositioning the Sears company brand and in launching an integrated marketing campaign that has won significant industry praise."
Bousquette, who has held senior positions with leading U.S. companies for 20 years, has broad domestic and international brand marketing experience. She was responsible for reinvigorating flagship brand Pepsi-Cola, while also helping transform Mountain Dew into a dominant brand for Pepsico, Inc. Earlier, she helped increase sales across a wide range of brands and categories at Procter & Gamble Co.
Before beginning a successful consulting practice, Bousquette served as chief marketing officer and executive vice president of the high-profile internet company eToys, Inc.
