Sears American Dream Campaign Partners With United Way to Help Tornado Victims
The Sears American Dream Campaign (SADC) is partnering with United Way of America and United Way organizations in the communities of Springfield, Joplin and Kansas City, Missouri as well as Jackson, Tennessee to aid families impacted by recent tornadoes. SADC will contribute a total of $20,000 to United Ways in these four cities to assist United Way of America's Crisis Response Team in their efforts to support tornado victims.
Additionally, SADC will contribute $40,000 in Sears Gift Cards -- $10,000 to each of the four United Ways. The United Way in each of these cities will allocate the Sears Gift Cards to families most in need. Impacted families can use the gift cards at Sears stores, including Sears Dealer Stores, to purchase items needed to outfit their homes and families and rebuild their American dream.
Families will be identified by United Way through its Long Term Recovery Program designed to help affected families develop recovery plans and access adequate assistance for recovery.
The Sears American Dream Campaign is a $100 million community commitment to help millions of Americans overcome the barriers to home ownership and provide products and services that outfit and maintain homes and families.
